In this video, I'm sharing one of my favorite project management software applications!

I've used Asana since around 2016-2017...I can't exactly remember the date, but I know that early in my career as a leader in healthcare, I pitched to my leader about Asana, sharing why I felt it would be beneficial to use it on my team. At the time, it was sort of a wild idea...this was back when conference calls were only by voice/phone and when most people used their email inboxes and a pen/paper or physical planner to organize their work. If you wanted to collaborate with someone, you called them, emailed them, or left them a note on their desk...! ha, fun times!

Although you can still leave a sticky note if you happen to be working onsite, project management tools like Asana can help you as a professional and individual contributor stay more organized and proactive and they can facilitate work online and remotely among team members. I use Asana to create projects, tasks, assign myself deadlines, and to create templates within my work so that I don't have to recreate the wheel. My goal is to automate my work as much as possible to reduce decision fatigue and analysis paralysis. Additionally, Asana can be integrated with other applications like Zoom or Microsoft Teams so you can keep track of everything across platforms for an easy and integrated experience.

And lastly, I think Asana rivals other project management tools because of its colorful and easy to look at aesthetic. The creators must not take themselves too seriously because whenever you complete a task, a unicorn or fantasy animal bolts across your screen to celebrate and if you use shortcut "control or command B," you'll get a screen of adorable kittens on top of your project for just a second or two. :D

I hope this introductory video gets you started! I will be making more Asana tutorials soon!
